How frequently will this be offered in a specific market? IELTS Indicator Academic test will take place once a week. Will it be offered globally to all prospective test takers? The test is available for a limited time in certain locations where IELTS testing is currently limited or suspended due to COVID-19. It is not available in mainland China. How much do test takers need to pay for an IELTS Indicator Test? The test fee is $149 USD.
How frequently will IELTS Indictor be offered in a specific market? IELTS Indicator is available once a week at set times to test takers. Check the IELTS Indicator booking page for session times within your market. When will IELTS Indicator be available in the General Training Test format? IELTS Indicator is only available as an Academic Test at the moment. IELTS Indicator has been designed to support students who want to progress their University and Educational Institution applications during the COVID-19 crisis. It has not been developed for migration purposes yet. What accessibility features does IELTS Indicator provide? The default, font sizes, line spacing and spacing between questions are designed to maintain readability of the information presented on the available screen space. IELTS Indicator also provides the option to enlarge the font size and change the colour settings to suit your needs.
What identity security standards will be in place for the IELTS Indicator? Test takers will need to provide their passport and identity document details when booking an IELTS Indicator Test. Test takers will also be requested to show their passport and identity document during the Speaking Test which is conducted over a video call. Taking the IELTS Indicator Test Will the test be timed? The time window for the test will be strictly controlled, so each section will be time-bound. You need to complete the test in one sitting, so be sure you have availability for the full duration of the Listening, Reading and Writing sections – approximately 2 hours 45 minutes. You cannot pause the test and come back later. Your Speaking test will be conducted separately.
How many individual tests will be included in IELTS Indicator? How many Listening, Reading and Writing tests? It will include one test for each section: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking.
IELTS Indicator scores and results How will I know if my university or college is happy to use the indicative scores? As IELTS Indicator does not replace an in-person IELTS test at a test centre, it is not accepted by all organisations. We recommend that you check with your university or education provider before you book. When will the result be released? You will receive your results within 7 days of completing all sections of the test. Will I get a score for each section along with an overall score? You will receive an indicative score for each section along with an overall indicative score. Indicative scores will help you know how you performed and where you need to improve.
Who will mark the IELTS Indicator test? Like in the IELTS Academic, responses are marked by trained and certified IELTS Examiners who strictly follow the IELTS marking criteria. Will the test taker receive an overall score for each part of the test (Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking)? Test takers will be given an indicative overall band score as well as a band score for each part of the IELTS Test. Will score ranges for IELTS Indicator be the same as for the regular IELTS in-person test? Yes.
